Inter Club Knockout CompetitionsTeams formed by invitation (Updated 20th July 2023)Yonwin CupA 3-rink Men’s competition limited to one team per S&DBA affiliated club. Players must be subscribing members of the clubs they represent. The first round saw us drawn against Southey. With a play by date of 19th June we unfortunately were unable to form a team with three suitable dates to offer the opposition and therefore had to forfeit the game. Arthur Hughes Triples CupA Men’s Triples competition limited to one team from each S&DBA affiliated club. Players must be subscribing members of the clubs they represent. Having received a "bye" in the first round we are due to play against Rose Hill before a play by date of 5th July. Having sucessfully beaten Rose Hill we are now due to play Surbiton RBL at home on Tuesday 25th July at 6:30pm The final opportunity sees the men’s triple take on Chipstead in the semi-final. The match will be played on Wednesday 30th August at Sutton BC, starting at 5.00pm. Tony AllcockDrawn against Supreme in the first round the match was played on Tuesday 23rd May. Our players found the green heavy and managed to hold their own for the first half of the match but were unable to continue to keep the opposition at bay. Eventually having to accept defeat.
Format:
Men's Past TimesThe competition is run as competitions played between club teams each comprising one rink of 4 players playing at 'Home' and one rink of 4 players playing 'Away' in each match, the combined 'Home' and 'Away' shots total to determine the match winners. Initially receiving information that we were drawn against Epsom Park we later received news that the organisers had found it necessary to re-draw the competition. We now find ourselves drawn against Merton Park with a play by date of 16th July. Although we did win the away rink, unfortunately we did not fair so well at home and the match was lost overall Ladies Past TimesThe competition is a knockout competition played between club teams each comprising one rink of 4 players playing at 'Home' and one rink of 4 players playing 'Away' in each match, the combined 'Home' and 'Away' shots total to determine the match winners. The first round sees our ladies drawn against a team from Sutton on 16th July - Good luck Ladies! The Sutton side were sporting some big names in both the home and away teams. Despite this our girls playing at Sutton dug their heels in and were winning by one shot when the game was conceded due to our home side being heavily down. Better luck next time ladies. Having received a "bye" in the first round our ladies are drawn at home against Chipstead. The match will be played on Monday 3rd July. Good luck Ladies! The ladies lost to Cheam Fields in the quarter final. The match was close until the end, when the opposition pulled away to take the win. |
